Dorthe Dahl-Jensen

The appointment as a DNRF board member means a lot to me, since I find that the Centers of Excellence initiative has strongly moved Danish research toward a high international standard. This has led to a vigorous development of emerging researchers in Denmark.

My expectations are to contribute to the excellent work of the board and thus support and advance research in Denmark, and I hope to further develop the DNRF’s funding initiatives and keep Denmark on the leading edge of the international research scene.

My major scientific achievements have been in leading ice core drilling and subsequent analysis of ice core data in conjunction with models to determine past climate and how it affected the Greenland ice sheet. I have led several international deep drilling projects such as NGRIP, NEEM and EGRIP. The research is very well cited, and I and five others from my research group are Thomson Reuters highly cited researchers.
