Center leader Rubina Raja behind the first systematic documentation of the development of ancient mosaics

Professor and director at Center for Urban Network Evolutions (UrbNet) Rubina Raja has published the paper Mosaicists at work: the organisation of mosaic production in Early Islamic Jerash in collaboration with her german colleague Achim Lichtenberger.

The paper is the result of six years of intense excavation in Jerash, Jordan, the former Decapolic city known as Gerasa. Unique findings from the excavations have made it possible to systematically document the development of ancient mosaics.
