Distinguished recognition of four DNRF professors

We are thrilled that we once again have the opportunity to congratulate brilliant scientists who were acknowledged for their groundbreaking basic research. This time, the awards go to four of our center leaders recognized for their work in four different areas.

A Nobel Prize in sustainability

Prof. Klaus Butterbach-Bahl (Land-CRAFT) will receive one of this year’s three Sustainability Awards in the category Outstanding Research and Development in Agriculture. Butterbach-Bahl will be presented with the award at a summit in San Francisco, November 20-21, 2024.  The Sustainability Awards are supported by the Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST) in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich.

The Carlsberg Foundation endorses research within Archeology and Genetics

Professor Rubina Raja and Professor Jesper Qualmann Svejstrup have been awarded the Carlsberg Foundation’s Research Prizes for 2024.

Rubina Raja (UrbNet) received the prize for her extensive archaeological studies, spanning urban communities and networks in the ancient world to iconography in the oasis city of Palmyra.

Jesper Qualmann Svejstrup (CGEN) has been awarded the prize for his groundbreaking research into the molecular “machine” that transcribes our genes. The Carlsberg Foundation Research Prizes | Carlsbergfondet.dk

Professor of chronic bowel diseases receives the Erhoff Prize 2024

Tine Jess (PREDICT)was awarded in recognition of her extraordinary and internationally recognized research into inflammatory bowel diseases. Professor Jess received the prize last month at a ceremony in Copenhagen.
