We are pleased to share that two more distinguished researchers from our DNRF centers have received international recognition for their research achievements.

Professor Rubina Raja, head of UrbNet was the keynote speaker at Academia Europaea’s 35th annual Academia Europaea Summit: Building Bridges on November 27 and 28 in Poland.

In her keynote “Making and breaking cities: the historiography of urban archaeology in the MENA region,” Professor Raja addressed the new research initiatives and the results of a major study that concentrates on the excavation of urban landscapes during the Ottoman Empire and the Mandate period in the Middle East. This research and period in ancient history are traced all the way up to this day and show the central role of archaeology in our society – both in the past and the present.

Professor Tejs Vegge, head of the pioneer center CAPeX, DTU Energy, has been selected as a member of the new EU Technology Commission for Advanced Materials, a key enabling technology highly relevant for the twin green and digital transition.

It is the European Commission’s focus on ensuring industrial leadership in advanced materials that has led to the launch of the new Technology Commission. The commission will coordinate efforts to meet Europe’s future needs for advanced materials and will play a major role in creating a common ecosystem for these materials.
