Fair assessment practices that focus on quality.
In the CoARA Action Plan, DNRF describes the initiatives the foundation has launched and outlines further initiatives for the 2026–2030 period, based on the ARRA principles and the foundation’s existing practices.
For many years, dialogue and peer review have been cornerstones of DNRF’s assessment processes, and the foundation’s board believes that this aligns closely with the principles of the CoARA movement. However, the board also believes there is room for improvement in a number of areas. For example, it wishes to gain more systematic insight into how rejected applicants perceive the foundation’s assessment practices.
DNRF’s CoARA Action Plan is based on perspectives from and discussions with all Centers of Excellence on responsible research assessment.
This fall, the foundation will invite all grant holders to a joint discussion of its CoARA Action Plan 2026–2030.
*CoARA is a coalition of research institutions that have signed the Agreement on Responsible Research Assessment (ARRA) and committed to preparing and publishing an action plan.
