Other DNRF funding mechanisms
The foundation will have only a few funding mechanisms besides the Centers of Excellence program. Ongoing funding mechanisms are:
Niels Bohr Professors. The foundation launched two professorship programs in 2005 and 2006, the Niels Bohr Visiting Professorships and the DNRF Professorships, with the purpose of promoting the internationalization of Danish research. The latest Niels Bohr Professorship program was launched in August 2011.
Danish-Chinese research centers. This funding mechanism establishes research centers in collaboration with the National Natural Science Foundation of China. No further calls are planned within this funding mechanism.
Talent recruitment. This initiative was launched in 2007 and 2008 to strengthen recruitment of top foreign researchers and talents in recognition of the increased competition for the best international people. Funds are provided as supplemental grants to the DNRF Centers of Excellence. There are at present no new initiatives planned for this funding mechanism.
Other initiatives will be established if and when the foundation sees an opportunity to address a particular challenge for Danish research.
