Opening of Center for Intelligent Drug Delivery and Sensing Using Microcontainers and Nanomechanics (IDUN)

April 10th DTU hosted a well-attended opening of the new IDUN center.

IDUN sets out to make oral drug delivery more effective by designing highly effective nano containers with release functions and compartments for bio-active drugs. Professor Anja Boisen will be heading the research.

IDUN is an acronym for Center for Intelligent Drug Delivery and Sensing Using Microcontainers and Nanomechanics, but also the name of the Nordic goddess associated with golden ables and eternal youth.

Speakers at the opening were DNRF Chair and Professor Liselotte Højgaard, DTU Rector Anders Overgaard Bjarklev, Center Leader Anja Boisen, Head of Diabetes Research at Novo Nordisk Peter Kurtzhals and Ph.D. student at IDUN Ritika Singh.
At the reception it was possible to design personalized micro-containers.
